He also clarfied that there was no third party in their split.
After months of speculations, Philippine-based Korean TV host Ryan Bang confirmed his breakup with his former non-showbiz fiancée Paola Huyong.
The It’s Showtime host made the revelation in the recent vlog uploaded by Vice Ganda on YouTube, where they were also joined by their fellow mainstay Jackie Gonzaga.
In the said video, he confirmed that he is already single when he was asked about his relationship status.
He also noted that he also made an attempt to fix his relationship with Huyong, whom he first introduced to the public as his partner in 2023.
“I was trying, I was hoping, I was praying na maayos.”
The TV and film personality then denounced rumours of him cheating in the relationship and said that, “S’yempre sa relationship, meron din akong kasalanan pero I never cheat.
“I never cheat. Even before, I never cheat.
“‘Yong maling akala, hindi ko sinasagot kasi, hayaan mo na ano iniisip nila basta alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi ganoon,” he also noted in another part of the interview.
Despite what happened between them, Ryan said he is thankful to Paola’s parents, whom he said were very kind towards him.
The host also confirmed that the reason for their break-up is rooted in difference between the Filipino and Korean cultures. “Magkaiba pala ‘yung paniniwala, magkaiba pala ‘yung gawi, tsaka magkaiba pala thinking lalo na pagdating sa marriage,” he said.
After the shocking break-up in 2025, both his and Paola’s parents told him to stop fixing the relationship and move on.
“Talagang tigil ang mundo. Sobrang hirap. Sobrang pagsisisi nung lahat.” he said. “In my whole life, ‘yon ‘yong pinaka-dark and hardest time in my life and ‘yong experience ko na ‘yon, pinakamabigat sa puso.
Meanwhile, Vice, who is known to be the “mother figure” of Ryan in the country, who has been living alone in the Philippines for over two decades, also noted how she felt throughout the breakup of the couple.
For Vice, she was not able to find the right words to comfort him despite having gone through break-ups in the past.
Vice also told that the engagement being publicized was what made it a tougher situation for her “naka” (or “anak-anakan”)
“Tapos alam na ng lahat, in-announce na sa buong mundo na they are about to get married. Vice said.
During that time, Ryan recalled that Vice took care of him and stayed by his side. “Araw-araw pumupunta ang mommy ko (Vice). Isang buwan.”
It was also Vice that convinced him to continue going to It’s Showtime and continue his usual routine to help him cope with the breakup.
While no exact date was given when their relationship started, it was in August 2023 when Ryan shared on ‘It’s Showtime’ his “updated” relationship status.
According to the host, “Gusto kong sabihin sa aking [It’s] Showtime family, sa harap ninyo, Mommy (Vice Ganda), Daddy (Ion Perez), kay Kuya ko, ate ko, Tyang (Amy Perez), may girlfriend na ako.”
They then got engaged in June 2024. But soon, they were marred in controversy after their photos were deleted from Instagram in September 2025.
