Their management has issued its response amidst the circulating rumors regarding the Filipino pop groups.
In a statement on Tuesday, April 23, Star Magic through its legal counsel Atty. Joji Alonso has delivered a strong-worded statement to counteract the malicious rumors against P-pop groups BINI and BGYO that are spreading online.
“BGYO and BINI, and its respective members have been the subject of malicious online attacks designed to seriously hurt or damage their reputation,” the talent agency wrote.
It added: “These continuous reckless posting and sharing of harmful, negative, and false accusations are violative of cyberbullying and anti-libel laws.”
“With the prevalence of social media and digital platforms where content shared become permanent for public’s consumption, we ask the netizens to be responsible in posting and spreading harmful content. It is everyone’s duty to create a safe online environment, rather than be the first to commit criminal acts.”
Star Magic also shared that while these past months have been “painful experience” for BINI and BGYO members, “both groups have gained the courage to stand-up against online bullies.”
“BGYO and BINI’s management will take legal action against these emboldened bashers who circulate unfounded rumors,” with the company having already tapped relevant government agencies private service providers to gather evidences and file cases against perpetrators.
To end, they reminded the public that “it is not only crucial to call out acts of bashing and cyberbullying, but to show kindness and accord everyone due respect, both online and in real life.”
In recent days, various rumors about the personal and professional relationships of the P-pop idol groups have spread online, which even led to the trending of various phrases and hashtags connected to BGYO and BINI on X (formerly Twitter).
