The popular singer is back in Manila.
On Saturday, March 9, British singer Ed Sheeran will perform for his Filipino fans after six years as part of his ongoing ‘Mathematics World Tour.’
The said concert takes place at the SMDC Concert Grounds in Parañaque City.
Prior to tonight’s concert, his last visit to the country was in 2018, when he performed in Pasay City as part of his ‘Divide’ tour that year.
Last September, he released his latest album titled ‘Autumn Variations,’ which peaked at number 4 in the Billboard 200 chart.
Aside from Sheeran’s showcase of his hit songs like ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ ‘Shape of You,’ ‘Photographs,’ ‘Perfect,’ among many other songs, another highlight of the evening is the performance of Filipino band Ben&Ben.
In a post on their Facebook page last month, Filipino band Ben&Ben shared to their ‘Liwanag’ fan base a poster of Ed Sheeran’s upcoming ‘Mathematics’ concert in Manila this March.
In the said poster, it was revealed that Ben&Ben will be performing alongside Callum Scott and the British singer during the Manila event.
The band did not hide their excitement, sharing in the caption: “Ma, special guest na kami ni Ed Sheeran sa concert niya 😭”
They also reminisced their past covers of Sheeran’s hits: “parang dati lang, nagcocover lang kami ng “perfect” sa Youtube. Never in our wildest dreams did we think this could happen. Surreal.”
Ben&Ben is a nine-member team, which is led by twins Paolo and Miguel Guico.
In recent years, they have continued to gain attention and accolades both in the local and international music scenes, thanks to their hits like ‘Maybe The Night,’ ‘Araw-Araw,’ ‘Leaves,’ ‘Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay,’ among many others.
