The “Popstar Royalty” is a “Global Force” to be reckoned with.

This week, singer-actress-performer Sarah Geronimo made history when she accpeted the very first ‘Global Force’ award given by Billboard Women in Music to a Filipina.

Geronimo, who flew to the United States for the ceremony, first thanked “God for the gift of music.”

She then went on to thank her parents and family, whom she described as “the very first people who believe in me and supported me.”

Also included in her message of thanks are Vic del Rosario, who manages Sarah’s musical career via Viva Records and her fans — Popsters.

Given a special shoutout too was her husband, actor Matteo Guidicelli, who she said keeps “pushing me to be a better version of myself everyday.”

Sarah also labeled the recognition as one that “signifies courage and hope.”

“Courage to accept and embrace one’s self and the courage to break boundaries and rise above all the setbacks and challenges that every artist needs to face,” she added.

The ‘Tala’ singer continued: “And the hope that one day, this meaningful moment will bridge the gap between tbe Philippines and other nations, collaborating, uniting as one to create change and positivity in the world through music.”

She ended her acceptance speech for her historic win by speaking in Filipino, “Mabuhay ang OPM! Maraming maraming salamat po!”

Husband Matteo, who went with her inside the theater, posted some snaps of Sarah that evening in his Instagram account and sent his congratulatory message to the singer.

“You are the Global force! Congratulations! Keep making music,” the actor said in the caption.

Sarah Geronimo began her two-decade long career in showbusiness after winning the reality show ‘Star For A Night.’

She went on to become one of the country’s biggest stars in music, TV, and movies, and is the vouce6 behind the popular songs like ‘Ikot-Ikot,’ ‘Kilometro,’ ‘Tala,’ among many others.

Last year, she marked her 20th anniversary in the business with a sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
