The K-pop star and content creator have been spotted doing the dance challenge.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bae Joohyun, popularly known as Irene of Korean pop group Red Velvet, was seen dancing to the steps of ‘Pantropiko,’ a trending song from Filipina pop girl group BINI.
According to the fan who posted the original tweet, she mentioned the Korean singer’s dance challenges during her group’s promotions for their song ‘Chill Kill’ last year.
The original poster then proceeded to ask Irene if she could do ‘Pantropiko’ and screened the dance steps made by BINI member Aiah Arceta.
Fellow BINI member Maloi Ricalde took notice of the said tweet and reacted in awe.
“ATE IRENE?! SANDALI ANG DAMING NANGYAYARI,” Maloi posted in her personal X account.
Similarly, Aiah was also stunned as she reacted with a brief “OMG.”
Aside from Irene, another big name has been bitten by the bug.
It is none other than popular dancer and content creator Niana Guerrero, who took to TikTok on Monday to share a clip of her and her team dancing to ‘Pantropiko.’
Niana even shared it with the caption that reads “stan BINI,” encouraging her 42 million followers on the platform to support the female P-pop group.
In related BINI news, the group’s music label Star Music announced that they will be releasing their first extended play (EP) soon.
The facade of ABS-CBN’s ELJ Communications Center in Quezon City was also lit up in pink on Wednesday night with the word BINI highlighted.
This is to both promote the group’s upcoming music, as well as celebrate the special fans day held by BINI members for their fans on Valentine’s Day.
The eight-member group, which officially debuted in May 2021, is made up of members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena.
To date, they have released multiple tracks, with the most popular being the likes of ‘Na Na Na,’ ‘Lagi,’ ‘I Feel Good,’ and most recently, ‘Pantropiko.’
