‘Falcon’ update from PAGASA as of 11:00 pm

In its latest bulletin, state weather bureau PAGASA said that Tropical Storm Falcon will enchance the Southwest Monsoon or hanging habagat, which will bring rain over the western portions of Luzon and Visayas. The agency warned that the forecast rainfall in elevated areas are generally higyer, and might be susceptible to hazards like flooding and landslides. PAGASA, meanwhile, said that the hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals in the country is unlikely.

‘Falcon,’ which bears the international name ‘Khanun,’ was last located 1,210 kilometers East of Central Luzon or 1,235 kilometers East of Northern Luzon. The cyclone moves in the North Westward direction. It packs winds of up to 85 kilometers per hour, and gustiness of up to 105 kilometers per hour.

‘Falcon’ is expected to stay within the Philippine Area of Responsibility until late Monday or early Tuesday. By then, it will make its way towards the northern part of Taiwan or southern Japanese islands. Continuing that path, it will be in China by Wednesday, according to forecast maps.

TAPE’s ‘Eat Bulaga,’ ‘E.A.T.’ celebrate milestones

On July 29, a peculiar sight on Philippine TV happened as both ‘Eat Bulaga,’ of TAPE, Inc., and TVJ’s ‘E.A.T.’ celebrated their 44th anniversary.

For ‘EB,’ it took the opportunity to launch its new theme song. “Tahanang pinakamasaya, Eat Bulaga,” the lyrics of the new song proclaimed. The new theme replaced the original ‘Eat Bulaga’ theme song by Vic Sotto, which Sotto brought with them to their new noontime show on TV5.

As for ‘E.A.T.,’ they branded the episode as ‘National Dabarkads Day,’ but the number ’44’ remained prominent in the episode. The special had also begun earlier this week, when they featured guests and celebrities who were part of the storied 44-year-long reign of TVJ and the ‘Dabarkads’ on noontime.

Meanwhile, regarding the case on the use of the title ‘Eat Bulaga,’ the situation remains a blur as the case is still ongoing. It can be recalled that last June 30, TVJ’s camp filed a copyright infringement case against Television and Productions Exponents, Inc. (TAPE) and host broadcaster GMA Network over their use of the title, which they claimed as a creation of Joey de Leon.

Vic Sotto, Pauleen Luna are expecting Baby #2

Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto announced on the special episode of ‘E.A.T.’ on Saturday that they are expecting their second baby. According to ‘Bossing,’ Pauleen is three months pregnant. Over at Instagram, Luna shared a clip of their firstborn daughter Talitha, who cannot help but to be excited to become an ‘ate’ to the new member of their family.

Prior to the announcement, Joey de Leon had spoiled the news when jokingly called Pauleen as “buntis” during the pilot episode of ‘E.A.T.’ last July 1. Then, the couple did not explicitly stated the pregnancy, but Luna was visbily absent from the program ever since.

Vic and Pauleen got hitched in 2016. After a year, Talitha or Tali was born in 2017. Congratulations!

Kathryn Bernardo is ‘Outstanding Asian Star’

Kathryn Bernardo has been named ‘Outstanding Asian Star’ at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2023. The Kapamilya actress bested other local actors for the award, including beau Daniel Padilla, Kapuso contemporary Barbie Forteza, Dennis Trillo, among others. The 2023 SIDA will be held this September in South Korea.

Actor-politician Ejay Falcon releases ‘statement’ on the names of two typhoons

Oriental Mindoro Vice Governor and actor Ejay Falcon took to social media on Saturday to air his piece over the names of two consecutive cyclones this month. The first one being ‘Egay,’ and now ‘Falcon’. The said order of names has driven netizens online to jokingly think that Ejay has something to do with this.

But Ejay, who is a sport and joined in on the joke, said that he has nothing to do with it and he is not related to the two cyclones. On a serious note, he said that people must prepare and keep safe amidst the inclement weather.

A piece of trivia, the names ‘Egay’ and ‘Falcon’ had been in use by PAGASA for 20 years already. Which means that they have been employed to name cyclones in the years 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, and recently, 2019.
