On Monday, July 3, the Department of Tourism said that is has severed its ties with DDB Philippines — the ad agency behind the campaign. In a statement released through the Facebook page of Secretary for Tourism Christina Frasco, the department said that it is “one with our fellow Filipinos in expressing our outrage… at the use of non-original/stock footage purporting to scenes from the Philippines…” referring to the AVP presented by DDB.

Twitter users report trouble accessing the app
Twitter users reported late Saturday evening that they are having trouble accessing the social network’s app. A ‘rate limit exceeded’ notification also pops up when scrolling through the app. Upon checking, Twitter’s website is operating as usual.
But the ‘error’ has been confirmed to be part of the capping the number of tweets each users are allowed to view. According to the social media giant’s owner Elon Musk, the reason behind the move is “to address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation.”
Moreover, verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts a day. Unverified accounts are capped to reading 600 posts a day. New unverified accounts or those created within the past 30 days are only able to see 300 a day.
‘It’s Showtime’ not a blocktimer on GTV — Ogie Diaz
In his vlog Monday, showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz shared that ‘It’s Showtime’ is not a blocktimer on GMA’s GTV channel. Instead, ABS-CBN and GMA Network entered into a “revenue-sharing” agreement. This means that both of them will share the profit generated from the advertisement load of ‘Showtime’ on GTV.
Yoona, Junho tangled in dating rumor
Earlier today, a dating rumor involving ‘King The Land’ stars Im Yoona (of Girls’ Generation) and Lee Junho (of 2PM) went rounds online. However, in separate statements, their respective labels SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment have already denied the news.
Brigada News FM begins operations in Manila
Brigada News FM begins operating on 105.1 FM in Mega Manila today. Initially a regional radio news network, Brigada replaced Q Radio, which transmitted on the frequency from January 2020 until last week.
With the launch of Brigada, the network joins Radyo5 True FM on 92.3 to become the two news stations in Mega Manila on the FM band.
Victoria Tulad joins ABS-CBN
In her social media update, former Kapuso reporter Victoria Tulad shared that she is now part of ABS-CBN News. Tulad left GMA News in late 2022 after working as a field reporter for over 12 years.
