BGYO named by GRAMMYs as one of ’10 Asian Artists to Check Out’
On May 12, the ‘Aces of P-pop,’ boy group BGYO, was named as one of GRAMMYs ’10 Asian artists to check out,’ according to the Recording Academy’s website. They are the sole Filipino musical act to make it on the list.
They joined Korean singers Baek Yerin, ‘Car, The Garden,’ ‘So!YoOn!,’ Chinese singer Lexie Liu, Hong Kong’s Tyson Yoshi, J-pop group Sexy Zone, Thai singer Phum Viphurit, T-pop group PRETZELLE, and Vietnamese soloist MIN.
This is yet another achievement for BGYO, who are also staging their ‘Be: Us’ album showcase in Quezon City on the same day when the article came out.
Over two weeks ago, BGYO, along with fellow P-pop boy groups SB19 and Alamat, were also named by the popular Canadian YouTube channel MsMojo as ‘International Boy Bands You Should Know about.’

Win Metawin to hold first solo fanmeeting event in Manila
Thai actor Win Metawin is set to hold his ‘Win: 1st Solo Fan Meeting in Manila’ event at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on June 11, 2023.
Ticket prices range from Php 3,500 for Balcony B seats to Php 11,500 for VIPs. Selling will begin on May 20, 2023 at 12 noon.
Win last visited the Philippines in November 2022, along with fellow ‘F4 Thailand’ lead cast members Bright Vachirawit, Dew Jirawat, and Nani Hirunkit, for a fanmeeting event featuring the four of them.
Win gained popularity in the Philippines upon the release of the BL (boys love) drama ‘2gether The Series’ in 2020, where he starred as Tine, opposite Bright Vachirawit’s Sarawat.

‘My School President: 1st Fanmeeting in Manila’ happens on August 5, 2023 at the UP Theater in Diliman, Quezon City.
‘My School President’ was aired in 2022 and became one of the year’s popular BL (boys love) dramas. In the Philippines, ‘MSP’ constantly trended on social media during its run.
EXO’s Kai enters mandatory military service
‘MR. ROVER GOES TO MILITARY’
On Thursday, May 11, 2023, EXO member Kai enlisted in the military, just a week after the sudden announcement was made regarding his conscription. He will be joining the public service department.
It was through a statement released on May 3, 2023, that SM Entertainment confirmed the enlistment of EXO member Kai.
SM also requested fans to respect Kai’s decision to enlist quietly. The venue and time was not disclosed to the public, hence the private send-off with fellow EXO members.
Kai’s sudden enlistment comes after the change in the regulations set by the Military Manpower Administration. The news also came amidst Kai and the rest of EXO’s preparation for their first full-group comeback in years.
SM, however, said that they will announce the new plan regarding EXO’s 2023 comeback in due course.
