A set of shake-ups will occur across the Big 3 networks come Monday.
Here’s a definitive guide on all the changes that are set to happen on and beyond Monday, October 4, 2021 on TV5, ABS-CBN, and GMA’s news programming.
TV5
Earlier this morning, Raffy Tulfo’s public service program Idol In Action bade farewell as it aired its last episode after more than a year on air. Tulfo cited personal reasons as the push for the cancelation of IIA. Tulfo has also left his anchor duties for TV5’s primetime newscast Frontline Pilipinas during its October 1 edition. He will continue doing, however, his job on Wanted Sa Radyo on One PH and Radyo5.
To fill the gap, Kapatid morning newscast Frontline sa Umaga will transfer from its 6:00am slot to 10:50am. Also, it will extend its runtime from 30 minutes to 40 minutes, to end at 11:30am. Replacing FSU at the 6 o’clock slot will be repeats from One PH.
Also, according to the MTRCB database, Ted Failon at DJ Chacha sa Radyo5 will return to TV5 via a hook-up that will begin at 6:30am. However, that is still unconfirmed by Radyo5 and TV5 as of the moment.
Side note, there is still no update with regards to channel 5’s programming from 7:00 to 10:50 and 11:30am as of the moment.
Over at One PH, the noontime edition of One Balita Pilipinas with Cheryl Cosim will be expanding to an hour and will air from 12:00nn to 1:00pm starting Monday.
No information is available yet on what will replace IIA between 10:30am and 12:00nn on One PH and Radyo5. Apart from that, no permanent replacement for Tulfo on Frontline Pilipinas has been disclosed yet by News5.
ABS-CBN
Rumors have been confirmed and indeed, Kuya Kim Atienza, TV Patrol’s segment anchor for Weather Weather Lang and Kaunting Kaalaman, is leaving the program tonight, October 1, 2021.
Atienza, who’s been with TVP since 2006, replaced the iconic Ka Ernie Baron as the newscast’s resident weather guy. Also, during his 16-year tenure with ABS-CBN, he was able to do shows like Umagang Kay Ganda, Matanglawin, and noontime show It’s Showtime. Currently, aside from his hosting duties for Patrol, he is also hosting an online show for the Knowledge Channel.
Atienza’s departure is the second for TV Patrol in a year, with Ted Failon being the first.

ABS-CBN News is yet to name the permanent replacement for Atienza. The news organization has also released their statement on his departure.
GMA
Speaking of Kuya Kim, he is confirmed to be joining the Kapuso network starting Monday, October 4, 2021.
In a teaser shared by GMA Network, Kuya Kim’s slightly blurred figure is seen as a backdrop. The word Kuya was also highlighted, further validating the rumors which went around over the weekend.
Apart from that, Atienza was also seen filming inside the premises of GMA, which has since been viral on TikTok.
According to an article published by the Manila Bulletin, Kuya Kim is set to host 3 shows for the Kapuso network.
The first is Mars Pa More, the morning lifestyle magazine show of GMA. It is unclear yet what role will he assume for MPM. He will also join 24 Oras, TV Patrol’s longtime rival, as a segment host. Finally, he will also be on GTV’s Dapat Alam Mo, with Emil Sumangil and Patricia Tumulak. DAM will air beginning October 11.
