As the Halloween season nears.
On Thursday, October 29, ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant is bringing true-to-life frightening encounters through its new limited series entitled True Manila Encounters.
Produced by CreaZion Studios, the show will dramatize chilling real-life encounters with the supernatural, with stories selected from multiple submissions gathered across Metro Manila.
Star Magic personalities Xyriel Manabat, Karina Bautista, Kaori Oinuma, and Elyson de Dios will star in the four installements.
The horror series kicks off with the episode entitled Undressed, which will star Xyriel and Karina and be helmed by Rae Red, who is behind the likes of Birdshot, Si Chedeng at Si Apple, and Eerie.
Their characters will face a vengeful spirit bound to a piece of thrifted clothing.
“The story follows Pearl (Karina), a woman who suppresses her third eye to hide from the paranormal. However, she is forced to confront her deepest fears when her coworker, Mei-Mei (Xyriel), buys an innocent-looking ukay-ukay dress, unaware of its gruesome past and the restless entity waiting to unleash terror on anyone who touches it,” ABS-CBN shared the premise of the episode.
Undressed will stream starting October 29 (Thursday).
Meanwhile, Kaori and Elyson top-bill the succeeding episode, Occupant. It will be directed by Dodo Dayao, who is behind Uninvited, Midnight in a Perfect World, and Violator.
It will be about a strained long-distance relationship, which will take a sinister turn during video calls between Ana (Kaori) and her workaholic boyfriend, Jam (Elyson).
“As a disturbing entity relentlessly torments Ana, pushing her to the brink of losing her grip on reality, Jam must race against time to save both her sanity and their relationship,” noted the network.
The Occupant episode will become available starting the following Thursday, November 5.
