Although, she stopped short of mentioning any further details.
Through a social media platform, Korean singer-songwriter IU received a comment from a fan, who personnally asked her if she can have a two-day concert in the Philippines.
“I know the tour schedule is already set… but if there is a show in Manila by any chance, I really hope they do it for two days,” the person wrote.
In response to the member of her fan base, Uaena, the Korean superstar replied: “I have a performance in Manila, and I’ll be doing it for two days.”
She, however, did not mention any other information regarding it, even a date for the shows.
Once it is finalized, this will mark her return to the country after previously performing at the Philippine Arena in 2024 for her H.E.R.E.H. world tour.
However, in a prior announcement back in July, she said that she is putting her activities on hold for the time being to focus on her health.
IU explained, “[My] chronic Eustachian tube dysfunction symptoms have been worsening recently. I am managing and taking care of it in my own way, but the weather seems to be having some influence as well.”
The 33-year-old said that her symptoms have always been “erratic” and shifts between good and bad. “But recently, they have persisted day and night for days at a time, and I have repeatedly found it difficult to regain my form while singing.”
Thus, her supposed concert at the Goyang Stadium in September and the succeeding domestic tour around South Korea were canceled, citing the advise of doctors, who told her to temporarily step back from demanding activities.
She also noted that her sixth studio album has been completed, but will also have its release postponed.
To end, IU expressed her apologies and expressed optimism to see her fans next year. “I will get treatment so that we can definitely start 2027 together. I will do my absolute best,” the superstar concluded her message.
She is known for her songs like Good Day, Palette, BBIBBI, Blueming, eight, Celebrity, and Lilac, among many others.
IU has also made her mark in acting after starring in several hit Korean drama series like Dream High, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, My Mister, and Hotel del Luna.
Recently, she starred in the series Perfect Crown as the female lead Song Hee-ju, opposite Grand Prince I-Han that was portrayed by Byeon Woo Seok.
