A special parting gift that was very much appreciated by the Megastar.
In a post on social media, actor-singer Khalil Ramos immortalized the moment that he gave his Honor Thy Mother co-star and screen legend Sharon Cuneta a special gift on their last taping day for the show.
“As Honor Thy Mother was coming to an end, I started thinking about what to give Mama Sharon as a ‘wrap’ gift,” the Kapuso star shared.
He also recalled having consulted with his girlfriend, Kapuso It Girl Gabbi Garcia, on what he could give to the Megastar, whom he said is someone who “pretty much has everything already.”
“I had such a hard time figuring it out. But Gab told me to just give her something she would remember,” Khalil shared.
Then he recalled that whenever they were on the set, he would see Cuneta, whom he endearingly called as “Mama Sharon” watching her old concert videos and looking through old photos as she prepares for her US tour.
“She told me it was her ‘pampalakas ng loob,'” Ramos noted.
That was when he connected with an archiver, Archivo 1994, who collects and preserves Philippine film and TV memorabilia.
“I reached out to ask what they had of Sharon Cuneta, and thankfully, they had some really special pieces. Rare photographs, behind-the-scenes moments, some of which have never been seen before, and even original lobby cards from Bituing Walang Ningning and Madrasta,” Khalil wrote.
When he went through those photographs himself, he said that he couldn’t help but admire how colorful Sharon’s career has been.
“From the 2nd golden age of Philippine cinema to today, she still gives 101% in every scene. And as a younger actor, it’s such an inspiring reminder to always give my all, no matter how far I get in this industry. And to do it with heart, kindness and grace,” the actor-singer continued.
He then expressed his gratitude to Sharon for her kindness and generosity, which served as his inspiration.
“I came into Honor Thy Mother getting to work with the one and only Megastar, but I walked away feeling like I had found another mom,” he concluded the post.
In the photos and clips he shared, Sharon was visibly sentimental and appreciative of the gift, with her also taking a photo with him and Gabbi.
Aside from Sharon and Khalil, also part of Honor Thy Mother are Barbie Forteza, Tonton Gutierrez, John Estrada, Mercedes Cabral, Criza Taa, and more.
