Culminating with a Saturday episode that will fall on the exact date of their premiere in 2009.

During their appearance on the GMA morning show Unang Hirit, the tandem of Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario dropped a special announcement for Madlang People.

This, as they confirmed that there will be a week-long special for the looming 17th anniversary of the noontime variety program It’s Showtime.

Asked about what viewers can expect, Jhong replied: “Mga Madlang People, abangan n’yo po ang mga pasabog namin sa aming Showtime anniversary week! Marami kaming pinaghandaan d’yan at magugustuhan ninyo.”

Vhong also noted that it will happen from Monday to Saturday “next week” or from October 19 to 24.

“Pero ito, wala na ‘yung contest,” he added.

They also quipped that the competition element was removed due to their bickering and being overly competitive.

Although, it will be the second time that this has happened, with the show having cancelled the competition format last year and instead opted to have a special week-long celebration called MagPaskoSikat, which was belatedly held in December, for their 16th anniversary.

In an on-air statement in October 2025, main host Vice Ganda explained that they decided to skip the tradition due to the financial challenges that the show is facing in the years after ABS-CBN was forced to end its terrestrial broadcast after its Congressional franchise was not granted in 2020.

“I’m sure alam niyo naman ‘yun kung gaano naging kahirap sa ating lahat na itaguyod itong programa ‘to sa mga nakalipas na taon. We have been trying our very best pero naisip namin every year, per day, per prod, minimum of ₱6 million. Minsan umaabot ng ₱10 million, so kung susumahin mo ‘yan sa isang linggo, para sa isang linggo lang na selebrayon, magkano ‘yung ginagastos namin,” the Kapamilya personality explained.
