Bringing the concert experience to more viewers around the country.
At the sidelines of the ASAP XP show in Pampanga on Sunday, October 11, bosses from ABS-CBN Corporation and MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiary TV5 apepared for the sealing of a monumental partnership.
This, as the longest-running musical variety show on Philippine television is returning to TV5 beginning next Sunday, October 18, under a co-production deal between the Kapamilya and Kapatid networks.
ABS-CBN was represented by chairman Mark Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, chief operating officer Cory Vidanes, and chief partnership officer Bobby Barreiro.
For TV5, its chairman Manuel Pangilinan, MediaQuest president and CEO Victorico Vargas, and TV5 officer-in-charge Chaye Cabal-Revilla were present at the said ceremonial signing.
Under this new agreement, TV5 will no longer just air ASAP XP, as it steps up as a co-producer, bridging the creative capabilities, resources, and talents of both networks.
Thus, this will mean that Kapatid stars under its Star Worx talent agency will be seen on the musical-variety show, alongside Kapamilya personalities.
“This partnership brings together the creative strengths of TV5 and ABS-CBN, supported by the broader reach and capabilities of the MVP Group ecosystem,” said TV5 chairman Manny Pangilinan in a statement.
He added, “We believe that working together makes the Philippine entertainment industry stronger, creates more opportunities for Filipino artists, and allows us to bring quality entertainment to more audiences, wherever they are.”
Meanwhile, TV5 officer-in-charge Chaye Cabal-Revilla shared, “For TV5, the return of ASAP XP marks another meaningful chapter in our partnership with ABS-CBN. This collaboration reflects the mutual trust, respect, and shared commitment that both networks have over the years.”
She also said that this partnership presents the opportunity to make the ASAP XP “more exciting and memorable for Filipino audiences.”
“We look forward to working even more closely together, creating fresh performances and new talent combinations that bring Kapatid and Kapamilya viewers together every Sunday,” she added.
Also present to celebrate were ASAP XP mainstays Ogie Alcasid, Piolo Pascual, Erik Santos, Darren Espanto, Alexa Ilacad, Robi Domingo, Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan.
TV5 stars Dylan Menor, and Carmela Lorzano, Selina Griffin, and Nico Matugas Gianna Huelgas, Kaitlyn King, Selina Griffin, Keisha Serna, Celyn David, Chan Martin, Patrick Ballesteros, and Spencer Capistrano were also there.
Prior to this, the flagship Kapamilya show was formerly aired on the channel as the first-ever ABS-CBN production to be carried by TV5 when their initial partnership began in January 2021.
ASAP would remain on the air on TV5 until December 2025, when it bowed out of the station, together with other ABS-CBN shows, following the termination of the five-year deal between both parties that month.
Within the span of its absence on the Kapatid network, the show reinvented itself as it became a total concert experience by bringing shows to different venues across the country and several parts of the world as ASAP XP.
ASAP XP returns to TV5 every Sunday evening, starting October 18. It will simultaneously air across ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and Facebook, iWant and TFC.
