It was a night of double winners.
On Thursday, October 8, the 49th Gawad Urian Awards was held at De La Salle University in the City of Manila.
During which, the best productions and performances in Philippine cinema over the past year were celebrated.
Taking the acting prizes during the evening were this year’s Best Actors, Jericho Rosales and Carlo Aquino — who won for their respective portrayals in Quezon and Bar Boys: After School — and Best Actresses, Odette Khan and Maris Racal for their roles in Bar Boys: After School and Sunshine, respectively.
Meanwhile, winning as Best Supporting Actress is another Sunshine star, Jennica Garcia. Over to the Best Supporting Actor category, Will Ashley earned an Urian for Bar Boys: After School.
The documentary Bloom Where You Are Planted also swept different categories, including the coveted Best Picture award.

WINNING REACTIONS
Meanwhile, right after the ceremony, the winners were over the moon after bagging their trophy.
Jericho Rosales hopped on a jeepney that drove right in front of the La Salle campus to take a candid photo with his Urian.
Meanwhile, Maris immediately went for a photoshoot with her first-ever Urian award on her hand.
Will Ashley also gave all the glory to the Lord for this career milestone.
Jennica Garcia was also happy to finally bagging an Urian like her mother, Jean Garcia, who also previously won as Best Supporting Actress.
