Bringing the mischievous and lovable character to Filipino viewers.
Beginning Saturday, September 26, ABS-CBN will begin screening the Tagalog-dubbed version of the Japanese anime Crayon Shin-Chan on linear television platforms Kapamilya Channel, ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, and A2Z.
Created by Yoshito Usui, the anime follows the character Shinnosuke “Shin-Chan” Nohara, a curious five-year-old kindergarten student who brings in antics and unusual questions.
The said anime series, which originated through the Japanese manga that started publication in 1990, will be brought to viewers under a partnership between ABS-CBN and Muse Communication.
According to the network, it will air every Saturday at 6:30 am on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2 and Kapamilya Channel, and 8:00 am on A2Z.
Meanwhile, episodes have already started streaming for free on iWant since last Wednesday, September 16.
The broadcast of the anime also marks the return of the genre to Kapamilya platforms, which previously aired the likes of Cardcaptor Sakura and Naruto Shippuden via A2Z’s KidZ Toontime block in 2020, which came directly after the network lost its franchise that same year.
The network later pivoted to reairing classics like Princess Sarah and Cedie, which have since moved to TV5 under its own TV5 Kids block.
Meanwhile, under the now-unbranded weekend children’s programming block, ABS-CBN also carries Tullipop and Baby Einstein.
