From being mainstays of the noontime variety program It’s Showtime, the seven-member group Baby Dolls continues to dominate the local charts and trending sounds on social media not just in the Philippines, but in various parts of the globe.

Its international appeal is easily proven by a recent performance that has charmed netizens on social media. Taken during the recent Measina Festival in Samoa, the said clip sees choir members sing in their native language, but to the tune of the group’s viral single Ooh Lala Baby.

While they made it fun by using the hit Filipino novelty pop song, the Samoan group used it to convey the important message against illegal drugs.

Ooh Lala Baby is the revival of Vhong Navarro’s Da Vhong, an official soundtrack of the 2014 movie Da Possessed. The song became one of the fastest music videos in the country to reach 10 million views on YouTube this year — showing the team’s rising popularity.

Meanwhile, their other viral single Ikembot Mo, which was simultaneously released with Ooh Lala Baby and other tracks in their debut extended play, Zoom Baby Dolls, entered the Spotify Philippines Viral Songs Chart, which came to be after the group went viral during their stint at the Aurora Music Festival.

But for their fans, they continue to be a gift that keeps on giving, with Baby Dolls having unveiled on Thursday, September 3, their latest dance anthem entitled Meme.

The upbeat dance-pop track, which was composed and produced by Christian Martinez and arranged by Albert Tamayo, with StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos as supervising producer, is described as a “feel-good track that invites listeners to let loose, have fun, and dance without a care.”

Moreover, the Baby Dolls members also contributed to the song’s choreography in collaboration with Renz Januz Bercasio.

Packed with infectious energy and carefree spirit, ‘Meme’ showcases the playful personality that has helped Baby Dolls connect with audiences and turn their music into a source of fun and good vibes,” ABS-CBN noted in its press release.

The seven-member Baby Dolls was originally launched in 2023 and is composed of Arianne Dela Cruz, Chole Florendo, Eriel Reyes, Ina Ortega, Jelai Ahamil, Johaira Moris, and Juby Sabino.
