In an exclusive interview with the Inquirer, Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival head Chris Cahilig announced that he has stepped into the role of being the interim manager of actress Bea Alonzo.
According to him, the box-office queen’s previous manager of six years, Shirley Kuan, has resigned, leading to him being tapped by Alonzo and her husband, Vincent Co, to temporarily serve as her manager.
“I .am not really privy doon sa conversation nila (Bea and Shirley)… But there is a need to take care of unfinished businesses. There are inquiries for endorsements,” he said.
Cahilig also emphasized that he agreed to take the job because he loves the Co family. “Bea is part of the family na rin and everything,” he said, adding that he did not pirate or take the job from other people.
He also noted that Bea is currently in a new phase in her life as a married woman and is prioritizing her family. “We need to plan out kung ano ‘yung overall directions niya. We haven’t done it yet kasi bagong-bago pa lang but that’s where we’re heading,” he added.
Citing Bea’s career longevity and knowledge of what she wants, Chris noted that he would like to respect her direction in life, while also supporting and creating opportunities for her along the way.
At present, Kuan and Alonzo remain mum on the matter.
Bea made headlines when she announced her surprise civil wedding to Vincent Co back in July. She is also filming the upcoming GMA series Whispers From Heaven, which is expected to air sometime in 2027.
