In an Instagram story posted on Saturday, August 22, pageant owner Nawat Itsaragrisil said that reigning Miss Universe 2025 Fatima Bosch is subjected to a supposed arrest warrant.
This, he told, is in connection with a case involving “defamation, false allegations, and dissemination of false information,” which are all supported by clear evidence.
He, however, did not elaborate any further regardimg the matters of the case.
However, it can be recalled that the Thai businessman and the Mexican beauty queen were embroiled in a controversy in the lead up to the 2025 Miss Universe competition that was held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Meanwhile, the faction of the Miss Universe Organization led by Raul Rocha Cantu, issued a statement supporting Bosch.
“Miss Universe has always been more than a stage, a crown, or a competition. At its heart, it is a global community of women: women from different countries, cultures, and generations who have found in this platform an opportunity to be seen, to be heard, and to use their voices with purpose. Today, we raise those voices together,” it told.
They emphasized that violence, intimidation, humiliation, disrespect, and mistreatment of women, in any forms, are unacceptable. “No woman should ever feel that she must remain silent to protect an opportunity, a position, a title, or a dream,” the MUO faction noted.
According to their account of the incident, which saw Fatima, along with several other participants walk out of an event, the beauty queen raised her voice “in defense of her dignity following the treatment she experienced from Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil,” noting that she reminded women everywhere of something fundamental and that “respect is not something we earn through silence. It is a right.”
“And when other women stood beside her, they reminded us of something equally powerful: we must take care of one another,” they furthered.
The group also noted that their move is not about nationality, competition, titles, or crowns, but is about dignity.
“Women supporting women cannot simply be a phrase. It must be a commitment to listen, to protect, to stand beside one another, and to speak when silence would allow mistreatment to continue,” the MUO said.
It continued, “We must continue building an Organization where empowerment is not merely something we speak about on a stage, but something we practice when it matters most; where every woman knows that she can say, ‘This is not right,’ without fear, and that standing up for herself will never mean standing alone.“
And to Fátima, they told her: “we see you, we hear you, and we stand with you.”
“Today, together, we raise our voices against mistreatment, intimidation, and abuse, and in unwavering defense of the dignity, safety, and respect of every woman,” they ended their statement.
