Nam Joo Hyuk to star in two upcoming K-dramas ‘Code,’ ‘Heartbeat’

On Thursday, July 23, back-to-back announcements were made regarding the future activities of Korean actor Nam Joo Hyuk.

The 32-year-old, whose latest project, The East Palace on Netflix, has just aired, has already been cast for two other shows.

First of the pair is the mystery-thriller series entitled Code for Disney+, where he will join the cast that includes Lee Yi Dam, Kim Eui Sung, and Park Hoon.

He is set to portray the character of Yoon Tae Joo, who is a lawyer who will be changed by his ambition and greed to become the partner lawyer of the country’s greatest law firm.

As per the details provided by the streaming giant, the show is directed Yoo Soo Min of the Weak Hero Class 1 and Class 2 and is slated to make its exclusive premiere on the platform in 2027.

Meanwhile, on the same day, reports also started to circulate regarding his other casting confirmation for another project.

Entitled Heartbeat, Joo Hyuk is set to play the part of Cha Shin Jo, a man who looks like the female lead’s dead first love. His role is described as one who tries to hide his past.

At present, actress Han So Hee is still in talks to star with him in the series written by Lee Si Eun, who also did the screenplay for True Beauty and Lovely Runner.

Amid the back-to-back announcements, the Korean actor also treated his followers on Instagram by sharing a set of photos that included both his personal and professional endeavors. The post has already garnered over 1.7 million likes on his personal account.
