The Ultimate Star, Jennylyn Mercado, is set to return to TV screens soon.
Following the successful run of her series Sanggang-Dikit FR with her husband, Dennis Trillo, she is set to make a special participation in the top-rating action drama series The Master Cutter.
There, she is set to be reunited with the Kapuso Primetime King, Dingdong Dantes, whom she previously starred alongside with in Encantadia in 2005 and the Philippine adaptation of Descendants of the Sun in 2020.
In a post on Instagram, Dantes shared a photo of him and child star Sienna Stevens with Jennylyn on the set.
“Now sewing another master of the craft into The Master Cutter,” he wrote in the caption of the said post.
According to a report on 24 Oras on Tuesday, July 14, Mercado is set to play the part of Olga, who will bring a new flavor to the story that is currently centered around Atoy (Dingdong) and Ibyang (Sienna).
She noted in her interview that she wondered when she would be able to work with Dingdong again after Descendants of the Sun.
“Sabi ko, kailan ko kaya makakatrabaho si Dong ulit pagkatapos n’on, ‘di ba? Ano ba ‘yung mga chance na pwede ko siya makasama? So, ito na ‘yun! Kaya masayang-masaya ako na nag-guest ako sa Master Cutter.“
Meanwhile, the actor revealed that their first scene together was “very light” and is of comedic nature, which prompted them to remembering the adaptation.
Meanwhile, both of them were in unison in teasing that her character Olga is “very important” to the story of Atoy and Ibyang.
“Clue: may kinalaman siya sa buhay ni Ibyang,” Dantes furthered.
Currently, The Master Cutter is the top-rating show on the 8:00 pm time slot on free-to-air television.
It simultaneously airs every weeknight on GMA, GTV, Heart of Asia, and I Heart Movies, as well as Kapuso Stream on Facebook and YouTube and the GMA Play app.
In addition, episodes are also released on Netflix three days before their broadcast on linear platforms.
