Showcasing how a “curse” could bring you to paradise.
Last June 26, streaming platform Viu has dropped the new series Love, Siargao, which marks it’s powerhouse collaboration with Viva Entertainment and the first on-screen team-up between two Filipino superstars, Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre.
Prior to its premiere, an over two-minute-long trailer was uploaded online, which sees people of different backgrounds coming together in the island, only to be bitten by the “Siargao curse.”
The series follows Jao (Alden Richards) and Kara (Nadine Lustre), whose lives will get entangled with one another. Kara decided to stay put the moment she set foot on the island, while Jao, who is broken upon his arrival on the island, had his relationship ended by his girlfriend.
Jao will then hire Kara as his tour guide to discover the island and find something he had lost.
Love, Siargao is under the direction of the tandem of Dwein Baltazar and Jade Castro, with the two actors joining an ensemble of cast featuring Kim Ji-soo, Kakki Teodoro, Kyline Alcantara, Gab Lagman, AZ Martinez, Vince Maristela, Adrian Lindayag, and and viral Kalokalike contestant Christopher Diwata.
Former It’s Showtime host Coleen Garcia will also have a special participation in this project, which also marks her acting comeback.
Meanwhile, playing as the series’ official theme song is the song Alon, the single of Filipino K-pop star JL Gaspar of the boy band AHOF.
