It is a partnership between two of the biggest media companies in the Philippines.

It is a partnership between two of the biggest media companies in the Philippines.

On Friday, June 5, GMA Network, Inc. and Viva Music Group officially inked their 50-50 joint venture agreement for the establishment of the new GMV Studios.

The said agreement, according to the partners, concerns music-related businesses, which include — but not limited to — music production, recording, marketing, promotion and distribution, artist management, and music publishing.

The deal is heralded to be one that will leverage the expertise of both companies, with Viva’s strength in producing chart-topping personalities and the multi-platform reach of GMA and its pool of talents.

Present at the said contract signing event were Viva Group of Companies Chairman of the Board and CEO Vicente del Rosario, Jr., GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, Vicor Music President and COL Antonio Ocampo, Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s First Vice President Joy Marcelo, Viva Records Corporation President Verb del Rosario, and Sparkle Talent Management Assistant Vice President Tracy Garcia.

Also present at the event were Viva Communications, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Vincent del Rosario, and President Valerie del Rosario.

Also seen at the said ceremony were Sparkle artists Ysabel Ortega, Princess Aliyah, Vianna Ricafranca, Jeff Moses, Anthony Rosaldo, and Sparkle’s P-pop group Dollipop.

In an interview with GMA News, Gozon-Valdes said that the partnership is really a “long-term” venture for both of them, as it will push and manage artists in the music industry.

So we’re very happy that Viva is a partner in this because we know the history of Viva, Viva Music, Viva Records in being able to spot and hone great artists and performers and we hope that through this joint venture we will be able to realize the potential of the artists that we have and also the artists that we both will sign up in this company,” the lady executive shared.

Meanwhile, Boss Vic said that the collaboration will allow artists with great potential to become “superstars” to go on and build their careers, especially in music, across various platforms.

Some of them are already very popular and I think with this tie-up, we can strengthen their career and make them really popular and make them into a multimedia star from recording to the live theater to movies and eventually a lot of endorsements,” Del Rosario said.

It was in October 2025 when the Kapuso network and the company behind the major Filipino movie studio announced their latest partnership, which adds to their multiple tie-ups over the years.

Dating back to the ’90s, the companies have already co-produced various TV programs, including the likes of Anna Karenina and TGIS.

Over at the film side, they have also partnered for releases such as Till I Met You, Ouija, Working Girls (2010), Playtime, and Video City.

Meanwhile, both companies still remain to have their own music labels independent of this joint venture, with GMA Music and AltG Records under GMA and Viva continuing to have its own Viva Records and Vicor Music.
