Making the film a certified blockbuster.
On Friday, June 5, ABS-CBN and its film production unit Star Cinema revealed the latest milestone of the movie Tayo Sa Wakas, top-billed by the tandem of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (collectively known as DonBelle).
According to the company, the movie, which opened its theatrical run last May 27, grossed PHP70 million in the local box-office on its first full week, as of June 4.
“Maraming salamat sa mga sumuporta, nanood, at nagbahagi sa kuwento nila Cheska at Cisco,” read part of the post.
Prior to this, the movie also recorded the highest opening day for a local movie in 2026, when it reached PHP12 million on May 27.
Tayo Sa Wakas, according to Star Cinema, revolves around Cheska (Belle) and Cisco (Donny), a long-time couple who have been partners in life and career but are now forced to confront how their ambitions have set them on different paths.
Director Cathy Garcia-Sampana said in a previous a media conference, “It’s a trip of two people para alamin kung talaga bang sila ay dapat matapos na o magpatuloy pa. I can say it’s about someone who wants to reach a dream, pero ano ang gagawin mo kung ang kalaban mo sa pag-abot ng pangarap na yun ay yung taong mahal mo.”
Donny also hinted that the film will showcase a couple in different seasons of love.
He shared, “You’ll start with the kilig, the honeymoon phase, then you go to the realization that you become familiar with each other and doon na yung problems na mag-aarise. So I think it’s a combination of all our characters in different stages of their lives.”
Tayo Sa Wakas is also Belle and Donny’s last project together as a loveteam, for now, and Belle believes that the film is a perfect fit, as it highlights their growth over the many years of their pairing.
Belle said, “Donny and I have been vocal about it na we just don’t wanna be DonBelle, we also wanna be Donny and Belle. I feel like this is the perfect project for it since it shows so much growth and maturity and it requires so much authenticity from the both of us.”
