On Sunday, May 24, original Filipino music (OPM) hitmaker Maki will be releasing his new single entitked habangbuhay pansamantala.
Hailed as the unreleased “pink song” of his Kolorcoaster album, it is an emotional track that serves as an anthem for those stuck in a relationship where they are treated as “second choice” or “kept on the backburner.”
According to ABS-CBN, the parent company of the singer-songwriter’s home label Tarsier Records, Maki composed the song himself, with Nameless Kids’ vocalist Nhiko Sabiniano handling the production.
Before its official release, the 26-year-old had already shared a preview of the track online, which has already gained millions of views across social media.
To celebrate the launch of the single, Maki recently announced two special fan events. First is the Pink Fest, which happens at the TriNoma mall in Quezon City on Friday, May 29.
After that, he will be holding the Pink Room at the Quezon Club at Solaire Resort North the following Friday, June 5, with tickets available via Solaire Rewards.
Outside the Philippines, his fans around the region and other parts of the world will be able to witness him perform his hit songs live on stage.
Maki is set to perform at The Theater at Mediacorp in Singapore on June 13, followed by a stop in Jakarta’s Bengkel Space in Indonesia on June 14.
There will also be additional stops in North America, Australia, and New Zealand, with details set to be announced soon.
Following the massive success of his Kolorcoaster album, which produced fan-favorite hits such as Dilaw, Namumula, and kahel na langit, Maki surpassed 1 billion all-time streams on music streaming platform Spotify.
