Two years since his last solo music release.
On May 18 (Monday), Korean pop rapper-singer Taeyong, a member of the mega boy band NCT, unveiled his latest record.
The 30-year-old dropped his first full-length studio album entitled WYLD, which carries the namesake lead track of the same name.
Accompanying the said album is the music video that was uploaded onto the SMTOWN YouTube channel on the same day.
Within hours, it has crossed the 100,000 views mark on the said platform.
Other songs in his first-ever album are Storm, Hypnotic, I’m A Dancing Cactus, Mermaid, 404 Euphoria, Skill, Hot, Feeling Myself, and Run.
This also marks his return as a soloist after two years, following his second mini-album, TAP, that was released in 2024 ahead of his military enlistment that year.
It was in 2013 when he was first introduced as part of SM Rookies and would soon became featured in various activities under the company, including as the rapper in Red Velvet’s revival of S.E.S.’s Be Natural in 2014.
In 2016, he would later be launched as part of NCT, where Taeyong would be primarily associated with the sub-unit NCT 127 — known for songs like Cherry Bomb, Touch, Kick It, Sticker, and Favorite (Vampire), among others.
He was also part of SuperM, which was formed by SM Entertainment as a project group in 2019 consisting some of their biggest male idols, led by SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, and other NCT member Ten, as well as ex-members Lucas and Mark.
Then, in 2023, Taeyong made his official solo debut back with the extended play entitled SHALALA.
