‘ASAP XP’ promises to bring ‘bigger’ entertainment experience for Kapamilya viewers

On Thursday, April 16, the Philippines’ longest-running Sunday musical-variety show ASAP dropped a major announcement.

After marking its 31st anniversary last February, the show will soon deliver entertainment on a much-bigger stage through ASAP XP.

Aside from the logo, also unveiled was the announcement of a big show that will be staged this May 10 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, with tickets to become available starting Friday, April 17.

Confirmed as performers for the said special event are AC Bonifacio, Alexa Ilacad, Angeline Quinto, Bamboo, BGYO, BINI, Carmelle Collado  Darren Espanto, DNA, Elha Nympha, Erik Santos, Esang, Fyang Smith, Gary Valenciano, Gela Atayde, Jameson Blake, Jane De Leon, Jarren, Jason Dy, Jeremy G, JM Dela Cerna, JM Ibarra, JM Yosures, and Jona.

Also part of the line-up are Kai Montinola, KD Estrada, Khimo, Klarisse de Guzman, Kyla, Maki, Marielle Montellano, Martin Nievera, Maymay Entrata, Regine Velasquez- Alcasid, Reiven Umali, Robi Domingo, Sofronio Vasquez, and Zsazsa Padilla, with more to be announced.

Ticket prices range from PHP500 in the Gen Ad area to PHP3,500 in the VVIP section, with passes to become available via Ticketnet’s physical and digital outlets.

Aside from ASAP XP, in 2026, the program will be mounting a star-studded show in the “Land Down Under” through ASAP in Australia, which will be taking place at the TikTok Entertainment Centre (formerly Aware Super Theatre) in Darling Harbour, Sydney on July 25.

ASAP in Australia is the next overseas show of the Philippines’ longest-running musical variety show. In 2025, as part of its 30th anniversary, it held global shows in Birmingham, United Kingdom and Vancouver, Canada.

ASAP is an acronym for ‘All-star Sunday Afternoon Party,’ was first launched on February 5, 1995.

Throughout the years, it has underwent several reformats, such as ASAP Mania in 2003, with the offshoot teen-oriented program titled ASAP Fanatic premiering the following year; having used the last two digits of the year as its subtitle (i.e. ‘ASAP ’08’) from 2005 to 2009; XV for its 15rg anniversary, and more.

In 2016, it finally reverted to its original title after 13 years, although that was short-lived as the program once again took on a new title upon its 2018 relaunch as ASAP Natin ‘To.

It was back in September 2024, the show reverted to their original title, in time for their 30th anniversary the following year.
