It will mark the first time in the Kapuso network’s history.
Beginning Monday, March 16, the Kapuso network will premiere the Tagalog-dubbed version of the Thai drama series The Sweetest Taboo on its Afternoon Prime block.
The show, which was broadcast on Channel 3 in its home country in 2024, is topbilled by actress Matt Peeranee Kongthai and Mikey Panitan Budkaew and will be aired weekdays at 5:10 pm, replacing the Korean series Delightfully Deceitful that aired its finale episode last Friday, March 13.
With this new drama, GMA will officially be doing an all-Thai lineup for its Heart of Asia block on the flagship channel.
This, as the Kapuso network currently airs the 2023 series Astrophile starring Mai Davika, Bright Vachirawit, and Off Jumpol at 9:00 am.
Meanwhile, the 2015 Lakorn Tricky Love with Lily Pantila Win Pansirithanachote Push Puttichai Kasetsin is being shown at 11:00 pm.
The weeknight lineup is then capped with the repeat of The Cheery-Lee: Village Headman of James Rusameekae Fagerlund, Gee Sutthirak Subvijitra, and Yada Narilya Gulmongkolpech at 11:30 pm.
This will be the first time in the network’s history that it chose to carry all Thai dramas on Heart of Asia, as it was previously associated largely with the Taiwanese, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese titles that were aired by the channel since 2003.
It was only in 2018 when Thai Lakorns were introduced by the network to Kapuso audiences, which began with You’re My Destiny starring Sukrit Wisetkaew and Ester Supreeleela.
However, this set-up is expected to not become a permanent sight, as the network unveiled during its omnibus plug for 2026 that they will still carry series from other Asian countries besides Thailand, such as DNA Lover, Branding in Seongsu, Innocent Lies, Love Hurts, and You Touched My Heart.
Other shows in the lineup are Numbers, Crazy X Rich, Bitter Sweet Home, The Sweet Blood, Cold Blooded Intern, 23:23, and Hide.
For now, Kapuso viewers who wish to get their fixed of Tagalized series from South Korea and other Asian countries on GMA are being served by the standalone Heart of Asia channels, which reairs some of the shows that have been broadcast over channel 7 and GTV the years.
