Noting how she was moved by the film.
In a post on her Instagram account, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith shared her reaction to the movie The Loved One, which is top-billed by her sister Anne Curtis and actor Jericho Rosales.
Sharing snapshots from the premiere night, Jas shared that she had to sit inside her car for an hour right after watching the movie, where she simply absorbed everything.
“It is such a quiet, honest portrait of how love develops and changes when two people grow in life,” she wrote. “The performances felt so raw, it was painful to watch two people loving each other the only way they knew how.”
The 31-year-old star also pointed out other elements and scenes that she liked the most.
“I loved the visual language: the blues of Ellie’s (and love’s) initial fluidity, then the browns when she finds some of her own grounding.. like love finding its shape, then finding its limits.”
Furthermore, she said, “That “I just want you, to live with you” moment… Ellie kneeling, almost like her own proposal. “Hinahanap na natin yung dating tayo sa ibang tao.”
“By the end, even the colors fade into black and white… like love reaching the end of one season of its life,” Jasmine expressed.
On a personal note, she congratulated her “sestra” Anne and the rest of The Loved One team, which is under the direction of Irene Emma Villamor. “Such a beautifully honest film about the natural cycle of love; how it begins, deepens, and sometimes gently learns how to let it run its own course.”
To end, she said: “Easily added to my favorite works of sestra 🤍 how blessed I am to witness all your success and growth. 🤍“
This project is not the first for the two superstars, who previously starred in another picture, Baler in 2008 and the adaptation of the Korean drama Green Rose in 2010.
The film premiered in the Philippines last February 11, with international screenings starting soon in select countries and territories worldwide.
