Asians made headlines at one of the most-prestigious awarding ceremonies in music.
On Monday, February 2 (Manila time), the 68th Annual Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles, California, USA.
The public was bedazzaled by musicians with their respective looks and performances, while awards recognizing their works were also given out in the same evening.
One of the winners for this edition is tne hit Netflix animated movie K-pop Demon Hunters, which bagged an award in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category for the track Golden.
Claiming the prize were the team behind it, led by EJAE—who also lent her voice for Rumi in the movie, Mark Sonnenblick, Teddy, 24, and IDO (Lee Yu Han, Kwak Joong Gyu, and Nam Hee Dong).
This is a milestone for the K-pop industry, as it was also the first time that Korean lyricists and music producers, such as Teddy, won a Grammy.
Meanwhile, Blackpink’s Rosé was also in attendance as she performed alongside Bruno Mars and hyped up the crowd with their hit single Apt.
That made Rosé the first K-pop solo female act in history to have been tapped as a musical guest in the prestigious awarding ceremony.
Outside of K-pop, other notable winners include Kendrick Lamar and Sza, who snagged Record of the Year for Luther, Bad Bunny—who won Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, the first Spanish-language record to win the award—and Billie Eilish, who took home Song of The Year for Wildflower.
