At one point, it was touted as the “Trending Capital of the Philippines.”

During her appearance at the InkBlot campus journalism program at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), TV host-actor-comedian Vice Ganda revealed an upcoming project that fans must look forward to.

“Magbabalik na ang GGV,” the Unkabogable Phenomenal Box-Office Superstar confirmed.

GGV or Gandang Gabi, Vice is Vice’s long-running Sunday late-night talk show that aired from 2011 to 2020.

At present, the showbiz icon’s home network ABS-CBN has not yet made any official announcement as regards to the imminent comeback of the show. Although, its newscast TV Patrol Express had reported on this development.

This is not the first time that Vice had shared an update regarding the beloved talk show, which cemented itself as one of the highest-rating programs of the network every weekend throughout its nine-year-long run.

In 2023, the It’s Showtime host had a question-and-answer session with her fans on X, formerly Twitter, where she entertained queries about GGV.

Onw viewer asked, “What’s stopping ABS-CBN para ibalik ang GGV? Super entertaining ng GGV huhu.

Vice responded at that time, “I was actually asked by the management when i signed my new contract if I wanted to do GGV again.” But she disclosed that she is unable to do multiple programs at the same time, given that she was still doing the game show Everybody, Sing that time.

Baka pagtapos ng Everybody Sing let’s see kung keri ko na. Pero seasonal na lng. Di ko na keri ung another 10 years,” she said.

Vice also confirmed then that the decision to end Gandang Gabi, Vice stemmed from the fact that guests started to get repetitive. “Nagsawa na din ako sa paulit ulit na guests. Isa yun sa mga rason kaya I decided to sign off.

But referencing the collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA, especially concerning It’s Showtime, Vice told back then “…mukhang mas malalim na ang balon ng guests kasi sanib pwersa na ang mga networks (hopefully).”

In that same Q&A session, Vice also took time to thank ABS-CBN for the show, which earned her many awards over the years.

Super nakakahappy na kahit ilang years ng di umeere ang GGV bukambibig pa din ito ng madami. Im so blessed to have 3 programs na kinakapitan talaga ng mga tao. It’s Showtime, GGV and Everybody Sing. Thank you ABS CBN.”
