They are set to join forces with two other actors in the said crime drama.
On Wednesday, January 14, streaming giant Netflix announced the production of its new Korean series entitled The Dealer.
The series, which will be led by Jung So-min, Lee Soo-hyuk, Ryoo Seung-bum, Ryu Kyung-soo, will follow the story of Geonhwa (portrayed by Jung), a casino dealer whose wedding plans suddenly fall apart.
An exceptionally adept and seasoned dealer who has lived a life far removed from the vices of the casino floor, Geonhwa finds her life upended when a housing scam derails her newlywed plans. She is forced into the underworld that she’s long avoided, but unleashed the full extent of her powers to the test in order to successfully make it down the aisle.
Lee Soo-hyuk will then play the part of Jo Jun, the casino player who turns the tables, being armed with razor-sharp skills and an impenetrable poker face, he dominates the casino tables, raising the tension at every turn.
Ryoo Seung-bum, meanwhile, will do Hwang Chisu, who survives by gambling with whatever cash he can scrounge at casinos.
Ryu Kyung-soo takes on the role of Choi Wooseung, who is a detective and Geonhwa’s fiancé.
The series will mark the first directing job of Choi Young-hwan, the cinematographer behind many major hits such as Smugglers, Veteran, Tazza: The High Rollers, and The Thieves.
The Dealer is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix soon.
