The President disclosed this in his return to the school.
At the medical caravan of Department of Education (DepEd) and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) at the San Francisco High School (SFHS), President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. shared progress in the reconstruction of a building inside the campus.
The said two-storey DAO building school building was damaged by fire last June 15, just a day before the opening of classes for the current academic year.
This prompted President Marcos to make a visit then, when he ordered the construction of a new four-storey building with 36 classrooms.
The new school building being constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), is expected to be completed by the start of the next school year, the President said during the inspection. Marcos, Jr. also said he had asked SM Group to also build 24 classrooms for the school.
“We look forward to the completion of this by the beginning of the next school year,” said the Chief Executive who was accompanied by DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte during the inspection on Friday.
According to DepEd, SFHS has a total population of 6,846 students and 325 teaching and non-teaching personnel, as well as 211 classrooms.
