They are the first batch to return this year.

In a media release, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said that it has facilitated the arrival of seven workers from Cambodia who were victims of human trafficking.

The said group is the first batch to return home this year and arrived early morning of January 4, aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR 2622 at NAIA Terminal 1 in Pasay City.

Upon arrival, the returnees were welcomed by personnel from the DMW–NAIA, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Bureau of Immigration, the Manila International Airport Authority–Airport Police Division, and the NAIA Task Force Against Trafficking (NAIA-TFAT).

The inter-agency team provided immediate assistance and facilitated the necessary arrival procedures. OWWA provided accommodation and arranged transportation for the returnees to their respective hometowns.

Before leaving Cambodia, DMW Assistant Secretary Venecio Legazpi personally helped the workers at Phnom Penh International Airport.

The repatriation was organized in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh and the Migrant Workers Office in Singapore.

The victims were scheduled to visit the DMW for legal, psychosocial, and reintegration support.

They follow the earlier reported 35 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Cambodia who were successfully repatriated to the Philippines in batches last December 31.

Meanwhile, thd DMW reiterated its warning to Filipinos to remain alert to fraudulent job offers, especially those shared on social media platforms.

The department also urged jobseekers to verify the legitimacy of overseas employment opportunities and to ensure they are properly approved and registered with the DMW before accepting job offers
