The network’s weekend slate will look a little different as we enter the new year.
In a poster uploaded onto its social media pages, TV5 revealed the programs that will take over the time slots vacated by ABS-CBN programs on Saturday and Sunday.
Beginning January 3 and 4, the network will broadcast reruns of some of its original and co-produced programs with other partners to fill the gap.
On weekend evenings, the 2020 horror anthology series Kagat Ng Dilim will once again bring fright to Kapatid viewers as it airs on Saturdays at 8:15 pm and Sundays at 8:30 pm. The show replaces the celebrity reality competition program Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 4.
Meanwhile, on Sunday noontime, the network has opted to do counterprogramming in the interim as it replays the 2024 pre-noontime drama series Padyak Princess starring Miles Ocampo through a marathon format from 12:00 noon to 2:15 pm, occupying the time slot previously held by the musical-variety show ASAP.
Lastly, and the most peculiar case in this programming shift is the rebroadcast of the 2022 talk show Tik Talks, which is hosted by Korina Sanchez-Roxas every Sunday nights at 9:30 pm.
That show takes the spot of Sanchez’s long-running newsmagazine show, Rated Korina, which is a co-production with ABS-CBN.
This re-jigging of the station’s weekend grid comes as the Kapamilya and Kapatid networks parted ways after more than five years after a publicized dispute this December.
The primetime block, composed of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, What Lies Beneath, and the Chinese drama Go Ahead will be airing their final episodes on TV5 on New Year’s Day, January 1.
With ABS-CBN having inked a licensing agreement with Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), Inc., the network is poised to return to its former home frequency on channel 2 in Mega Manila on January 2.
