On Sunday, January 4, ABS-CBN went full-force as Kapamilya stars and bosses joined forces for the special edition of ASAP.

The said episode marked the comeback of the country’s longest-running weekly musical-variety show on channel 2 as it aired for the first time on Kapamilya Channel on ALLTV2.

During the program, live performances led by mainstays Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, Zsazsa Padilla, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, Yeng Constantino, and KZ Tandingan with the G-Force.

Also present in the special celebration were Bamboo, Jed Madela, Nyoy Volante, Belle Mariano, Donny Pangilinan, AC Bonifacio, Darren Espanto, Kyle Echarri, Robi Domingo, Sofronio Vasquez, Ice Seguerra, Jona, Jason Dy, Alexa Ilacad, Elha Nympha, Kai Montinola, Ken San Jose, Jeremy Dy, Gela Atayde, and Jameson Blake.

Sunday’s episode also served as a birthday special for the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta, witj Regine, Zsa Zsa, Gary, Martin, Ogie, her husband Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Homer Flores, with Julia Montes and Judy Ann Santos.

Vice Ganda also made a special appearance to celebrate his recent Best Actor win at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for the blockbuster hit Call Me Mother.

Bassilyo, Smugglaz, Crazy Mix, Flict-G, Kial, Masta, Jonas, Pistolero, and Sisa all teamed up for a performance of the soundtrack from the top-rating primetime series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

This episode marks ASAP‘s first broadcast on channel 2, which was the former frequency operated by ABS-CBN, after the terrestrial network shutdown in May 2020.

Since then, it had aired only on Kapamilya Channel on cable, along with the simulcast on A2Z channel on free-to-air television in 2020—where it continues be carried up to this day alongside Jeepney TV, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant, and TFC.

In 2021, it got a time slot on TV5 following the cancelation of Sunday Noontime Live, where it continued to air until last December 28, when the program bowed out after the termination of the content supply agreement between ABS-CBN and the Kapatid network.

Meanwhile, aside from ASAP, other Kapamilya programs already airing on channel 2 include TV Patrol, It’s Showtime, Magandang Buhay, the primetime programs FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, What Lies Beneath, and Go Ahead, and Your Face Sounds Familiar, among others.
