In anticipation of people travelling to different parts of the country for Christmas and New Year.
In a post on its official social media pages, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the dates when the expanded number coding scheme are suspended in view of the year-end holidays.
According to the agency, the system is suspended from Tuesday, December 23 to Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2025.
The scheme will be lifted anew starting Monday, December 29, 2025 until Friday, January 2, 2026.
The MMDA noted that the number coding scheme is automatically suspended during regular and special non-working holidays.
The decision to halt the implementation on December 29 and January 2, meanwhile, comes after the Office of the President issued Memorandum Circular No. 111, which canceled work in government offices (except emergency and vital services) on both days.
While the number coding scheme has been lifted on those dates, motorists using EDSA will be able to encounter construction works along the stretch from Roxas Boulevard to Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong.
This, as the EDSA Rehab project will officially commence after a months-long delay.
