Schedule Suggestions: Kapamilya Channel & ALLTV (January 2026)

In light of recent developments in the local television market.

In light of recent developments in the local television market.

After more than a year, Schedule Suggestions is back with a new installment. For this edition, we take a look at the major shake-up that will greet television viewers in the New Year.

Last Wednesday, December 17, ABS-CBN announced that it has reached a licensing agreement with Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), which owns ALLTV, for the carriage of the Kapamilya Channel.

The channel, which is only available in cable and satellite providers at the moment, will begin to simulcast over ALLTV stations nationwide come January 2, 2026.

The list includes the flagship VHF channel 2 in Mega Manila, which was formerly operated by ABS-CBN for decades until it was forced to give up its frequency in 2020 after losing its terrestrial broadcast franchise.

In effect, the deal with AMBS allows the network to officially return to its home it once had. This, as the deal adds more the list of ABS-CBN shows that air on the channel, which at present already include the likes of the noontime variety show It’s Showtime and the flagship newscast TV Patrol.

Through Kapamilya Channel on ALLTV, primetime dramas FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, and What Lies Beneath, as well as weekend shows ASAP and Your Face Sounds Familiar will have a new free TV home after the end of ABS-CBN and TV5’s partnership on January 1, 2026.

In this edition of Schedule Suggestions, we ponder at the possible broadcast set-up between both channels and throw some other ideas into the mix.

11:30 pm – Off Air (ALLTV) / Movie Central Presents (pay TV feed)

Foremost, the Kapamilya Channel airs 24/7 on pay television, which is something that is not done by free-to-air networks in the country.

In line with this, it is likely that ALLTV would opt to take a few hours off the air. In the suggested schedule, the network would sign on daily at 5:30 am, in time for the Kapamilya Daily Mass and sign off at around 11:30 pm or by the time that the Movie Central Presents block commences on the pay TV feed.

Programming-wise, the network could also take this opportunity to introduce some changes to its line-up.

In the mornings, while it could be a far-fetched idea at the moment for a new morning show, in the same vein as Umagang Kay Ganda, to be launched, a repeat of the previous night’s edition of TV Patrol could be placed at 7:00 am.

This could then be supplemented by a fresh bulletin at around 10:00 am, which could be utilized by both ABS-CBN and ALLTV to broadcast their respective bulletins.

The 10 o’clock edition of News Patrol on ANC for the cable feed and Mabilis Lang ‘To for those tuned in to the free TV channel.

Backtracking a bit, the 8:00 to 10:00 am chunk would remain as it is now, although fresh episodes of Magandang Buhay, if that is still a consideration at this point, could help bring in some sort of normalcy to the otherwise stale time block.

Moving on to the late-morning to noontime, Kapamilya Blockbusters would remain, followed by It’s Showtime.

Although, right after the main noontime edition, ABS-CBN could place a special extension program at 2:30 pm, which could be named It’s Showtime Overtime—a nod to the show’s infamous pre-pandemic practice.

Not only would this allow artists and shows airing on Kapamilya Channel/ALLTV and A2Z to promote their respective projects, as the program would not air on GMA, but also provide an additional platform for hosts of the show that has been reduced to just two segments daily.

From 3:15 pm onwards, the current Kapamilya Gold lineup would remain, with exception of the Kapamilya Gold Hits movie block that could be merged with the morning movie block.

Another suggestion is to add one of the daily Jeepney TV replays to fill the airtime that would be vacated if the movie presentation is to be axed.

With the primetime block being stable, it’s time to move on to the Saturday grid.

10:45 pm – Philippines’ Most Shocking Stories / Possessed
11:30 pm – Off Air (ALLTV) / Super Kapamilya Blockbusters (pay TV feed)

Minor changes can be done in the early part of the morning schedule, such as the introduction of a replay of TV Patrol, as well as adjustments to both the School Anywhere and Yey! Weekend blocks.

Meanwhile, similar to its weekday counterpart, the Saturday afternoon lineup could be rejuvenated with some tweakings.

After the proposed It’s Showtime Overtime extension program, the revived SOCO, which is available on streaming platforms, can be placed as a leadoff to a news and current affairs block that will include the already ongoing Tao Po and My Puhunan.

Following TV Patrol Weekend, the rerun of Flower Of Evil, which is already airing on ALLTV, could be retained to allow the broadcast of Pinoy Big Brother Collab 2.0 on other platforms like Kapamilya Online Live.

With that, the other shows on the primetime block could then be shifted to later and extended times, with Rainbow Rumble at 7:15 pm, Your Face Sounds Familiar at 8:30 pm, and MMK at 9:45 pm.

To cap the line-up, the ABS-CBN News digital originals Philippines’ Most Shocking Stories or Possessed could close the day on ALLTV or serve as pre-programming to the horror-themed Super Kapamilya Blockbusters on the pay TV channel.

  • SUNDAYS
  • 1:30 am – Movie Central Presents (pay TV feed)
5:30 am – Kapamilya Journeys of Hope
6:00 am – The Healing Eucharist

    7:15 pm – Rainbow Rumble
8:30 pm – Your Face Sounds Familiar
    9:45 pm – Rated Korina
10:45 pm – The Best Of Gandang Gabi Vice (rerun)
11:30 pm – Off Air (ALLTV) / Sunday’s Best (pay TV feed)

On Sundays, most of the line-up will be retained as well, although with similar proposed minor changes to be implemented to allow the broadcast of TV Patrol‘s replay in the morning, among other adjustments.

Over to the afternoon block, the Bisaya-language shows Kuan-On-One and TV Patrol Regional could also be expanded to a full 90 minute time belt by moving My Puhunan to Saturdays.

Similar to the Saturday night schedule, the marquee primetime game and reality shows would also be shifted to later times, resulting the newsmagazine show Rated Korina airing at 9:45 pm.

To end the week on a positive note, the network could opt to rebroadcast old comedy programs, with the most-fitting being the talk show Gandang Gabi Vice, which occupied the slot for over eight years.

The carriage of Kapamilya Channel on ALLTV signifies another seismic shift in local television.

From the shuttering and the figurative shattering of the former leading commercial network in the country to it picking up pace and now, returning to its original home, the very own teleserye of the studio that brought the genre to the masses continues to unfold and shock viewers (and observers) with plot twists that even those who had already expected it, would still view as interesting.

At present, ABS-CBN/Kapamilya Channel and ALLTV have not yet released any official schedules that will take effect on January 2.
