As the country gears up for its hosting of the ASEAN Tourism Forum next year.
Last Wednesday, December 10, the Department of Tourism (DOT) held the signing of memorandum of understanding (MOUs) with various media outfits in the country.
The said move is for the Philippines’ first-ever hosting of the highly-anticipated ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in January 2026.
Present during the event was DOT Secretary Christina Frasco and the figureheads of nine media companies, which the Tourism Department teamed up with to ensure comprehensive coverage of tourism-related campaigns, activities, and programs.
The media organizations include news publications Business Mirror, Daily Tribune, Inquirer Interactive Inc., Manila Standard, Manila Bulletin, The Manila Times, Malaya Business Insights, and The Philippine Star.
Furthermore, the DOT also reached a landmark partnership with multi-platform media company Cignal TV, which enabled it to secure free air time for the promotion of the country’s top tourist destinations.
Under the partnership, the media outlets will provide promotional support and editorial coverage to tourism-related events, enhancing content visibility of the Department’s information campaigns.
