As part of the administration’s catch-up plans and updates on other housing initatives.
During the Palace Press Briefing on Monday, Usec. Claire Castro confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with officials of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), led by Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, and other concerned agencies in Malacañan Palace.
The said engagement was set up to discuss catch-up plans for the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program and updates on other housing initiatives of the government.
During which, Marcos directed DHSUD to build more quality housing closer to workplaces, transport terminals and other essential services.
This, as he wanted to ensure the quality of life for residents in government housing, according to Castro.
Furthermore, the President also ordered DHSUD officials to promote flexible and affordable housing options for low- and middle-income families, including rental housing and other programs, in order to simplify the process in purchasing a house.
