A day later than the initially planned released date.
Earlier in the week, streaming platform Viva One announced that the second book of its hit digital series, Ang Mutya Ng Section E: The Dark Side, wi be moving its premiere episode one day later than the originally scheduled December 4 release.
With the first episode of the second season now set to hit screens on Friday, December 5, the show’s official poster was also revealed.
Making their comeback this season are the series’ lead stars Andres Muhlach, Ashtine Olviga, and Rabin Angeles, who will reprise their respective characters namely Keifer, Jayjay, and Yuri.
Aside from them, also part of the series are André Yllana, Ethan David, Charles Law, Derick Ong, Michael Keith, AJ Ferrer, Daniel Ong, Frost Sandoval, Keagan De Jesus, Kurt Delos Reyes, Kyosu Guinto, Martin Venegas, Nic Galvez, Sam Shoaf, Yanyan De Jesus, Zeke Polina, Angela Muji, Heart Ryan, Rafa Victorino, Jastine Lim, and Sara Joe.
Veteran actress Nanette Inventor, Yayo Aguila, are also returning in the series, with the newcomers in the cast including the likes of Joko Diaz, Nathalie Hart, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Billy Villeta, and Rhen Escaño, Taneo of the P-pop group ALAMAT, Austin Dizon, and Rommel Luna.
According to the numbers posted by Viva One, views for the first scene drop, which featured Muhlach and Olviga, crossed the 11 million mark within 24 hours of its release earlier this November.
After which, the full trailer also came out in conjunction with the media conference for the show, which showed a change in the tonality of the series.
The first season of Ang Mutya Ng Section E, comprising of 16 episodes, streamed from January to April 2025.
It is the live-action adaptation of the Wattpad novel created by Lara Flores, with the show gaining high viewership both in the country and internationally.
After its successful digital run, TV5 picked up the mini-series for a primetime free-to-air television run from May until July.
