Bringing the discounted cards to more members of the community.
From Wednesday to Thursday (November 26 to 27), the White Beep Card Caravan of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its partner, AF Payments, Inc. (AFPI), will be held at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) in Manila.
Through which, students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be able to avail of the cards that come with 50% discount on fares in the three metro rail lines in Metro Manila: LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3.
According to Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, the caravan’s goal is to reach more students without them being hassled by going to the stations to get the cards.
“Dahil sa white beep card caravan na ito, mapapagaan ang biyahe ng ating mga estudyante at less hassle na rin sa kanila lalo na sa mga naghahabol ng klase. Lalagyan lang nila ito ng load at agaran na silang makakapag-avail ng 50% discount,” said Lopez.
The caravan aims to distribute cards to 380 students and 120 senior citizens and PWDs during the two-day event at Benilde.
Prior to this, the caravan was held to the National Teachers College earlier this week, and previously, it was also brought to universities like the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), University of the Philippines – Diliman (UP-Diliman), the Far Eastern University (FEU), De La Salle Unibersity (DLSU), and University of Santo Tomas (UST).
