Filipina5 loses second FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup match to Morocco

In spite of which, it was still a record-making game for the Philippine team.

In spite of which, it was still a record-making game for the Philippine team.

On Monday, November 24, the Filipina5 national team competed anew in the ongoing inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in Pasig City.

Soon after the match began, within seven minutes, players Dionesa Tolentin and Cathrine Graversen were able to draw the first two goals of the country in the world cup, right in front of over 1,700 spectators at the venue.

However, their opponents did not take it lightly, as they launched three consecutive goals and eventually tilted the game in their favor.

In the end, it was a 3-2 win for Morocco, which also spelled the end for the Filipina5 contention at the first futsal world cup.

Coach Rafa Merino then stated that the first goals that the team made in the earlier part of the match surprised them.

I think that scoring two goals in such a short period of time surprised us a bit, and it took us out of the game plan that we had.”

Despite that, the Philippine team still has one final chance to intensify history, as they are set to battle world no. 6 Argentina on Thursday, November 27.
