The much-anticipated series premiered last week.
After the newest mystery-romance series The Alibi, top-billed by Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, launched worldwide via the streaming giant Prime Video last week, the show quickly emerged to the top spot.
This, as the ABS-CBN production was hailed as number one show of the platform when it premiered last Friday, November 7.
The feat also made ‘The Alibi’ Kim and Paulo’s second series to earn the number one spot on the list of most-watched TV shows on Prime Video Philippines, following the pair’s first title on the streaming platform in ‘Linlang’.
Aside from topping the charts, the series also earned praise from viewers, especially the show’s lead stars who portrayed much bolder characters than their previous projects.
One of the most-talked about scenes was when star dancer, Stella (Kim Chiu), did a sensual pole dance, where she stripped her clothes while Vincent (Paulo Avelino) gazed at her during their brief encounter at the bar.
The first two episodes of also featured heart-pounding events that stemmed from the mysterious murder of Walter (Sam Milby), known to be Vincent’s archrival at his family’s news agency.
That same man also happens to have had a steamy affair with Claudia (Sofia Andres), Vincent’s wife.
The series also introduced the struggles of Stella, an ex-convict and an escort, and her life-changing gamble when she accepted Vincent’s one million peso offer to be his alibi for the ongoing police investigation where Vincent is the prime suspect.
The first two episodes are now streaming exclusively on Prime Video, with two new episodes dropping every Friday in the Philippines and over 240 countries and territories.
