On Friday, October 24, Filipino double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo participated in the finals event of the men’s floor exercise of the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The 25-year-old was able to score 5.9 points for difficulty and get an execution score of 8.566 for a total of 14.533 in the final computation, which earned him a Bronze medal finish for his seventh consecutive year in the international meet.

He placed behind participants Jake Jarman—who was his half-Filipino competition in the Paris 2024 Olympics—and Luke Whitehouse, who both represented Great Britain.

The two gymnasts scored 14.866 and 14.666, respectively, which resulted to their Gold and Silver medal finish.

In its social media post, the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines shared, “Yulo’s latest triumph is another shining moment for Philippine sports, a testament to his relentless dedication, discipline, and the spirit of a true Filipino champion.”

The Filipino Olympian is set to compete again on Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 pm (Indonesia time) for the Men’s vault finals.
