The Univerkada is back with the latest installment focusing on another couple.
On Saturday, October 18, the live-action adaptation of the online novel Golden Scenery of Tomorrow hit the Viva One platform.
Topbilled by Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross, the drama is the fifth installment of the University Series, which began with The Rain In España, followed by Safe Skies, Archer; Chasing In The Wild; and Avenues of the Diamond.
All four of which, written by Gwy Saludes, have been previously adapted by Viva One.
The official synopsis for GSOT, according to the author herself, is as follows: “Ever since they were kids, Avianna Diaz from UST Architecture and Larkin Sanchez from UP Film were inseparable, until Larkin’s fame grew over time, and they suddenly found themselves taking different roads at the same time.”
Also appearing in the new adaptation are the lead stars of the prior installments, Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo (TRIE), Jerome Ponce and Krissha Viaje (SSA), Gab Lagman and Hyacinth Callado (CITW), and Lance Carr and Aubrey Caraan (AOTD).
At the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) in Pasay City last September, both Binene and Ross gave their personal insights about breathing life into the characters from the novel.
For Wilbert, who portrays Arkin, he noted that he personally messaged fans to check if they share the same vision regarding the character.
“Yung pinaka-best (sic) na interpretation ng Arkin, ‘yun ‘yung ginagawa ko na siyang basis kung paano ko siya gagawin in the series,” he revealed.
Bea also shared the same point and emphasized the need to connect and nurture the relationship with fans of the novel.
“It’s also nice to hear their feedback, their opinions, kasi s’yempre… malalaman namin na sa ibang readers, ganito ‘yung (dating ng) certain eksena or ito (naman) ‘yung talagang pinaka-inaabangan nilang eksena. Ganito sa vision nila si Via at si Arkin.“
