The Kapuso executive has spoken out on the issue.
In a Facebook post on Friday, September 26, GMA Network’s Senior Vice President for Talent Management, Programming, Worldwide, and Support Groups Atty. Annette Gozon commented on the current controversy hounding rising star and ex-‘PBB’ housemate, Shuvee Etrata.
Gozon began her post by writing, “Please allow me to clarify an article going around… I am ready to offer my support to Shuvee, any of our artists, or any of my friends when they are wrongfully and unfairly attacked.”
The Kapuso boss then emphasized, “Shuvee is not ‘die hard’ for any politician.”
Although, Atty. Gozon-Valdes did not deny that Etrata has had “very very few (and short) posts that have political color in the past.”
“She gave her personal observation and opinions on what she believed to be good acts and bad acts done by the (government). If she personally observed that the negative effects of drugs was mitigated IN HER NEIGHBORHOOD, then let’s respect that… just as we should respect her stand against the shutdown of ABS-CBN,” the lady executive continued.
The SVP then asked the public, “Please, let’s respect each other’s opinions. Rather than spread hate and attack each other, we should unite against our common goals such as searching for the truth and ending corruption. Let’s join forces to cancel corruption, not people who work hard for their family. Peace,” and ended it with a heart emoji.
Atty. Gozon-Valdes’ comments come days after Shuvee gained attention on social media after clips from her live broadcast prior to joining ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ in April.
Following that, Etrata issued an apology on social media and assured her followers that she has learned her lessons.
In the final part of her statement, the TV personality conveyed, “Huwag po kayong mag alala, natuto na po ako. Lalawakan ko pa po ang pag-iisip ko para sa ating lahat. I will continue to learn and grow. Mahal ko po kayo at mahal ko ang Pilipinas lalo na sa panahon ngayon. I stand for and with the Filipino people-always.”
