Their much-anticipated reunion project is coming later this year.
In a social media post, a new photo emerged from the upcoming 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, ‘Call Me Mother,’ as the cameras began rolling on its first shooting day.
Seen in the said picture are director-screenwriter Jun Robles Lana and the twoain stars of the movie, Unkabigable Phenomenal Box-Office Superstar Vice Ganda and the Internet’s President Nadine Lustre.
The three are already on set, with both Vice and Nadine glammed up for their characters.
Some details regarding ‘Call Me Mother,’ which will be a three-way collaboration between Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, and Viva Films, have also been revealed in the past.
The film’s synopsis was disclosed at the MMFF’s announcement of the first four entries last July, and as written by ABS-CBN, it read: “Fabulous single queer mother, Twinkle, plans on surprising her loving adoptive son, Angel, with a Disneyland trip by finalizing his adoption papers – if and only if nobody claims Angel within three months. But the unexpected arrival of Mara starts to complicate their peaceful life.”
It continued, “Shook by Mara’s arrival, Twinkle goes the extra mile to prove that she is a caring and capable mother to Angel – resulting in over-the-top hilarious means to assure Mara that Angel is already in good loving hands.“
“As the end of the three-month adoption process comes to a close, a surprising and threatening bond between Mara and Angel forms. Can Twinkle prove that motherhood lies not in biology, but in profound, unwavering devotion?“, the synopsis ended.
‘Call Me Mother’ marks the reunion of Vice and Nadine after previously joining forces in the 2015 mega-blockbuster comedy film ‘Beauty and The Bestie,’ which also starred Coco Martin and James Reid.
The drama-comedy will hit theaters on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.
