NAIA lowers overnight parking rates for ‘verified travelers’

They will pay half of the prices set by the operator.

In a post on its official Facebook page, New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) shared that it is now able to offer much lower overnight rates for verified passengers and other legitimate users of the airport.

According to them, this was made possible through the upgrade of its parking system, which allows the group to “manage parking more efficiently and make sure it stays accessible for those who truly use the airport.

In its guidelines, New NAIA said that one must park inside the vehicular parking site and simply keep their ticket and boarding pass with them during their trip.

Upon return, present both at the validation counter and verified passengers pay only half the standard overnight rate.

With this development, the overnight parking fee for a verified traveler’s car has been lowered to PHP 600 every 24 hours from P1,200; buses now at PHP 1,200 from PHP 2,400; and motorcycles at PHP 240 from PHP 480.

Smarter parking helps keep slots available and convenient for the people NAIA was built to serve. Because when systems improve, so should the experience,” New NAIA added in its post.

It was last October when the NNIC implemented a fee hike aimed at easing congestion in the parking lots of the airport terminals, as the “convenient” parking rates of the past have resulted to “disadvantages to travelers.”

The consortium points out vehicle owners using NAIA’s parking lots even though in actuality they have no business at the airport.

The NNIC added that they will “not” be profiteering from the hike, but instead use it to help fund their several improvement projects, such as building new linkways to and from the terminals, and additional parking spaces.

Over to regulator Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), it said that they could only regulate the rates for the first two hours, but the fees for the succeeding times are under the discretion of the new airport management.

But the authority assured that the fees are movable, and could be lowered depending on the feedback from passengers and stakeholders.

The price adjustment, which is under administrative order no. 1, series of 2024, is the first of its kind in over a decade.
