Her life story was among the stories featured in the program’s comeback season.
In an Instagram post, BINI member Sheena Catacutan penned her reflection after the airing of her episode in the drama anthology series ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya‘ (‘MMK‘).
The P-pop star portrayed herself in the installement titled ‘Camera,’ starring alongside Angelica Panganiban as her mother, Malou de Guzman, Bembol Roco, and Aljon Mendoza.
Also featured in special participatory roles were her co-members in the group, who also acted as themselves from training to their debut.
Sharing pictures of her family, Sheena wrote in the caption, “I was so scared of reliving moments in my life that completely ruined me, akala ko hindi ko kaya and I would just be a mess. But God was here, He has always been here for me kahit I have resented Him so much back then.“
She continued, “He made me feel my mommy and ampa’s love all over again as if they never left me. And right there and then, I got their message for me.“
The singer-performer also noted that the ‘MMK‘ stint gives her the chance to inspire “broken, lost, and hopeless” people.
“Through this I will have a chance to inspire so many people. People who are broken, lost and hopeless. Through me I can tell a message that once you lost something, It will not be the end for you, Instead it can be a start of something. We grieve and cry until we feel nothing, and it is okay. The Lord is close to the broken hearted and He will comfort and never leave us, I promise you.”
Catacutan then gave her thanks to the drama anthology show for giving her the chance to tell her story.
“[MMK, you] have healed me in ways I never thought I needed. Thank you for making me feel what it feels like to have a complete family again. It is an honor for my life to be featured and be an inspiration to everyone.“
The Kapamilya personality also gave her heartfelt message to her dear Mommy and Ampa, telling them, “Mommy and ampa, death may have taken so much from us pero it will never take away the dreams we all promised together for me and for our family. Lalaban ako okay? Para kay Amma and Kuya. I miss you both and I love you so much mommy ko and ampa ko.”
Sheena’s ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya‘ episode registered over 200,000 concurrent views when it aired on Kapamilya Online Live last Saturday, May 3, becoming one of the most-watched programs that day.
Meanwhile, the star, along with the rest of the girl group, also successfully staged their two-night show at the Aurora Music Festival in Clark Global City last weekend, entertaining a crowd that that reached over 80,000—the fest’s biggest in its four-year run.
